Hello, I'm Sophie
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Zuerich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family, and what began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t in the master plan. Like many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Created StoneValleyCode
Most online information was either corporate-level relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Switzerland goes on, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Zuerich or anywhere in Switzerland, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Sophie
